Sustainability

Here at Lily & Me, we are fully committed to offering more considered, sustainable choices to our customers.

From design to manufacture, we aim to create clothing and accessories that have wearability and sustainability in mind, from the natural materials we use to how we develop and create our styles and prints to have longevity and timeless, consumer appeal.  We do not follow fads or fashion, we produce clothing that our customers can return to season upon season.

As part of our sustainability drive, we have minimised all excessive packaging at every stage of our production line. Our individual garments are packaged in recyclable bags made from 70% recycled plastic and we are super proud of our beautiful brown paper postage bags that can be reused or recycled. We avoid excess packaging and champion re-using delivery boxes for all wholesale orders.

'Sustainable Brand of the Year'

We are immensely proud to announce that following nominations at the prestigious Boutique Magazine Awards 2024, Lily & Me have been recognised as 'Sustainable Brand of the Year'.

This is a huge achievement for the team and a recognition of our continued desire to improve our sustainable offering year on year within a challenging industry.

We are proud to manufacture in our own factory in Nepal and the judges recognised in particular the accountability we have of our products at every step of the process.

Sustainable fashion

Sustainability is at the forefront of the fabric choices we make. From the softest organic cotton and silky Tencel to our Ecovero™ Lenzing™ Viscose (that caries the most perfect drape), we have lots of styles that aren't just timeless, they're planet friendly too.

We choose our fabrics following certain criteria and intentions for reducing detrimental impact of fashion on the environment. Where possible we source sustainable yarns that use less water, energy and create less waste. We look to use natural fibres and sustainable alternatives that are less impactful. Our intention is to continuously improve and reduce each collection's impact on the environment.

Derived from sustainable wood and pulp, Ecovero™ fibres generate 50% lower emissions and water impact compared to traditionally sourced viscose.

Organic cotton is grown naturally, without synthetic pesticides, fertilisers and genetically modified seeds used in the growth of conventional cotton. The organic farming practices used benefit both the health of the farming land and its workers.

Made from recycled household plastics. It takes 50% less energy to make clothes from recycled plastics than virgin ones. Less energy, less water, less wastage.

Tencel™ fabric is an environmentally friendly and sustainable fabric derived from eucalyptus wood pulp. It is known for its softness, breathability, moisture-wicking properties and its biodegradability.
